T-shirt #034 - IQ

IQ is a British "neo-progressive" rock band founded in 1981.

IQ were one of a small number of British bands formed during the early 1980s, including Marillion, Pendragon, Twelfth Night, Pallas, Quasar, LaHost and Solstice that continued with the progressive rock style forsaken by 1970s bands such as Genesis and Yes.[2] The music press coined the phrase neo-progressive to describe these bands

The band's musical style, especially earlier in their career, was reminiscent of Peter Gabriel and Steve Hackett era Genesis because of singer Peter Nicholls' vocal and stage-presence similarities to Gabriel

Mike Holmes guitar playing and solos are progressive diamonds (e.g. the solo from Shallow Bay on the 2019 album Resistance)

Neil Durant is doing some grandiose keyboarding to get every prog-fan in a good mood!

I asaw them in Copenhagen Sept 2019...great concert!

T-Shirt #033 - Car bomb

Car Bomb is an American mathcore band from New York, initially formed in 2000.

Car Bomb's style is marked by a highly experimental and extremely aggressive approach to metal. The band's music and riffs follow a very discordant style; chords and scales are not of the conventional variety, and have an almost random playing feel (as demonstrated in "Hypnotic Worm"). The band have cited their style to be influenced by Meshuggah, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Autechre, Coalesce, The Locust, Naked City, Metallica, Pantera, Slayer, Frank Zappa, Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, Vinnie Colaiuta, Allan Holdsworth...

the drummer Elliot Hoffman keeps it all together with his amazing drumming ...
the concert at Pustervik 2019 was fantastic.

Feels good to discover this band live!

The concert in Gothenburg Sept 2019 was just awesome!
..from the start there was JOY and happiness of playing and being on stage.
Even when they went on stage prepping and the background disco music was on, they played along to it while tuning and testing the sound ...and adding some solos fitting the disco tune :-)

Great guys that deserve to be well known: Joey Izzo // Keyboards, Adam Rafowitz // Guitar, Adam Bentley // Guitar, Richie Martinez // Drums, Joe Calderone // Bass

And from my prog symphonic rock days, I have since also entered the dark realm of Brutal Technical Death Metal via Progressive Metal
...but every time I start to listen to Genesis I am back again where it all started ...and I just love it!
