Jeff Loomis is probably best known for his role as lead guitarist in the progressive metal band Nevermore. In November 2014 he became the new guitarist for Swedish melodic death metal band Arch Enemy.

On April 10, 2012, the second solo album Plains of Oblivion was released through Century Media Records.

Loomis had a monthly column in Guitar World magazine entitled "Merchant of Menace" where he explained how to play the riffs and solos of Nevermore

Jeff Loomis went on tour with VILDHJÄRTA, MONUMENTS and STEALING AXION 

I saw them at Sticky 3rd november 2012 and sadly NOT many people showed up at the gig because of other big gigs (DEVIN TOWNSEND PROJECT + FEAR FACTORY + SCAR SYMMETRY at brewhouse and  ACCEPT  at Trädgårn)

...but OH my GOD he delivered (in spite of the small audience)

...he jumped down on the floor and played a lot of songs sourrounded by the 40 people in the audience!!!

one of my best guitar-driven concerts ever!!!

 a great artist does not care about the number of people, but still do a marvellous show for the people that showed up!

Their playing style incorporates elements of death metal, progressive rock and nu metal.

What really pushes the band forward is the engimatic singer, Tatiana Shmaylyuk!

She is just amazing! ...not only growling but singing clean as well:-)

The band's style ranges from symphonic to hard rock.

They played the whole Visitor album at Musiken Hus in Goteborg 180518, and it sounded better than ever with the new singer Paul Manzi

I also like that he is using is left hand in an open playing style like Dennis Chambers and others (not crossing arms when playing stuff on the left side like the hi-hat).
